The Natyanjali School of Bharata Natyam carries forward the pristine, time-honored heritage of the Tanjore style, preserving the geometric precision, powerful rhythmic footwork, and deep expressive clarity of this foundational classical dance tradition. Founded and guided by Dr. Malini Krishnamurthi—an acclaimed soloist and master teacher—her training methodology bridges traditional artistic mastery with an exceptionally refined, high-level educational structure.

Dr. Malini’s profound technique was shaped through intensive training under the legendary maestro of the art form, Padmashri Guru K. Kalyanasundaram, inheriting a pristine lineage of impeccably clean lines of movement, precise technical execution, and expressive depth.

In addition to her lifelong dedication to dance, Dr. Malini is formally trained in classical Carnatic music, allowing her to mentor advanced dancers in the profound, symbiotic relationship between melody, rhythm, and nuanced emotional expression.

She recently concluded a four-decade career as a University Professor within the California State University system, primarily anchoring her career at CSU Fullerton.

This rare combination of a legendary classical dance lineage, musical training, and academic experience defines her as an educational visionary who holds student success and artistic transformation at the absolute core of her work.

👥 Eligibility Criteria & Exclusivity

  • Eligibility: Completion of training in Varnam and Thillana OR seniors in pre-Arangetram stage, Graduates, Collegiate Dancers, or Solo Dancers.
  • Exclusivity: To ensure every dancer receives the individualized feedback and focused coaching necessary for true performance excellence, this master class is strictly limited to 15–20 participants.

⚠️ Guru Courtesy Policy:

In honoring our sacred traditions, all dancers currently affiliated with their dance schools are requested to obtain their primary Guru’s blessing before submitting their application. Natyanjali strictly enforces a respect-first policy and honors the sacred bond between a dancer and her primary guru.

       (Fee includes all masterclass resources and a participation certificate. Approved medical emergencies will receive an 80% refund of the tuition fee; 20% will be retained to cover administrative overhead costs).
